Cellist, Joe Kwon, is well-known in North Carolina and around the world for his high-energy performances as a member of the Avett Brothers. We wanted to give him a place on the web to showcase this aspect of his life, as well as his passion for giving back to his community and his love of the culinary world. We did this with a comprehensive one-page website, using Joe's magnetic personality as inspiration for every aspect and design choice. To give visiting fans an intimate experience of the website, we edited a custom video of Joe's interviews, TV appearances, and live performances. We also had him doodle several elements like the menu icon, and handwrite the menu and headers.

This website features many of Joe's specific passions like his love of food, charity involvement, and his sponsors and brand recommendations. But it also serves as a platform for fan appreciation and interaction. While building this website, a fan of Joe's created a graphic that turned into a fast-selling t-shirt. We wanted to give him the opportunity to sell merch like this in an easy-to-use setup. Joe and his team can now manage his merch on their Big Cartel account through the website. We also wanted fans to be able to easily access his discography and tour information, so we custom designed a discography section and included an auto-updated tour section where fans can request that the Avett Brothers schedule a show in their city.
